Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to any bookings made either directly through our website or via a third party online booking agent. We kindly ask you to take a moment to read them prior to booking. Your agreement to abide by these terms and conditions are assumed when booking accommodation at Jenkin Hill Cottage Bed and Breakfast and form a legally binding contract. Reservations are personal and can in no case be transferred to a third party, whether free, at a cost, or for commercial purposes.

Jenkin Hill Cottage Bed and Breakfast operates on a strict no-smoking policy throughout the house.

The number of occupants per room cannot exceed the number of persons booked, we reserve the right to terminate the booking without notice should extra persons present upon arrival.

Check-in and Departure

Guests are required to complete a registration form at check-in. Guests travelling to us from outside the UK and Ireland are legally required to provide us with details of their passport number and place of the issue along with details of their next destination. These records will be kept securely for a minimum of 12 months and will only be made available for inspection by any police officer or as otherwise required by applicable law in connection with the prevention or investigation of crime. We reserve the right to refuse entry to persons who cannot provide the information set out above.

Check-in is between 3 pm (15.00h) and 7 pm (19.00h) on the day of arrival. If you need to arrive outside of these times, please contact us directly to ascertain whether we can accommodate your individual request. Please vacate your room by 10.30am on the morning of departure.

Reservations:

A reservation can only be considered to be confirmed and guaranteed:-

If we have received a valid credit card number with supporting information to process a deposit or to act as a guarantee for bookings made at short notice.

and

We will have normally send an e-mail to you confirming your booking and receipt of deposit.

Deposits:

Currently: The equivalent of one night’s accommodation will confirm a reservation. Please note this is non-transferable or refundable in the event of cancellation.

Payment/ Cancellations:

 We accept all debit cards and most credit cards – Sorry, no American Express or Diners Card. These may also be used to secure a booking.

You are reminded when booking the accommodation you are entering a legally binding agreement.

If in the event of unforeseen circumstances, you have to cancel your reservation, the following terms apply:

We will take your credit/debit card details at the time of booking to charge a non-refundable deposit equivalent to one night’s stay. If you decide to cancel your stay up to 7 days before arrival, you will not be liable for any other charges. For cancellations after this, or if you fail to arrive, you will be liable for the total price of your stay.

We STRONGLY recommend that you ensure your travel insurance covers you for cancellations due to emergency situations.

 Damages or Breakages

 We kindly request that you take care in our home. You are reminded that you are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur especially if you accidentally spill something – it’s much easier to clean if we know what it is and act quickly. We do not normally charge for small breakages, but we reserve the right to charge for repair or making good if the damage is significant or has an impact on our ability to re-let the room. There is a charge of £10 for lost keys to cover the cost of replacing the locks.

We operate a strict no smoking policy throughout the house. If we find any evidence (physical or otherwise) of guests smoking on the premises a non-negotiable £150 penalty fee will be applied to your account and charged to the card utilised to reserve your booking.

Children

We regret that we are unable to accommodate children under 16 at Jenkin Hill Cottage Bed and Breakfast

Pets

Sorry, we do not allow pets at this property or adjoining land, with the exception of assistance guide dogs.

Liability

Although we take care in how we present our accommodation online, we do not make any particular representation as to the suitability of our accommodation to your specific requirements. Should you have any specific concerns relating to hygiene, health and safety practices or the quality of our services, or should you like to check the specific conditions of stay, please contact us directly before the cancellation deadline, and we will do our best to address these.

Other than for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or fraudulent misrepresentation, our total liability to you is limited to the price of the Booking and in no circumstances will we be responsible for any indirect or special damages.

We will not be liable to you where we have exercised reasonable care and skill in our provision of the selected accommodation services to you. We will not be liable for failure to perform to the extent that the failure is caused by any factors beyond our reasonable control, including the provision of said accommodation services.

Non-availability

We would only ever cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would always attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however, if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund ALL monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

Missing Items

We reserve the right to charge for missing items.

Termination Policy

Guests are reminded that we comprise of only 3 bedrooms and are a small accommodation provider. Guests are requested to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner and are asked not to disrupt the comfort or enjoyment of other guests. If we perceive that your behaviour is breaching this agreement, then we reserve the right to refuse accommodation and/or services to you. Where this is the case shall have no obligation to refund you for lost accommodation, other services or any other loss or expense incurred.
